On display here is No’ si volta chi a stella è fisso (Fixed Upon a Star One Turns Not), 2004 (2025), previously on view in the Sala delle Cariatidi. The work is composed of eight polished metal par- allelepipeds arranged in such a way that the empty space at their center recalls a star. Although not the first version of this work, this is the first time it has been realized on such a large scale. Its title is a reference to a celebrated aphorism of Leonardo da Vinci’s in which Salvadori sees a reflection of his own journey. Leonardo’s phrase suggests the need to keep our attention focused on what interests us, without letting ourselves be distracted by the irrelevant events that go on around us: the statement “No’ si volta chi a stella è fisso” is not an end in itself, but something that needs to be put into practice. The titles of my works are never intended to define, but represent processes that continue to be renewed and remain active. They are permanent indications of practice” (Salvadori).
