Roberto Ciaccio, INTER/VALLUM
Music
20th September 2011

In collaboration with the international music festival, MiTo SettembreMusica, the Municipality of Milan is sponsoring a special musical event on the occasion of the opening of Roberto Ciaccio’s exhibition in the Sala delle Cariatidi of the Palazzo Reale on 20 September 2011.

It featured Karlheinz Stockhausen’s concert Mantra, in its original version for two pianos, percussion and ring modulators; this was performed by the piano duo Antonio Ballista and Bruno Canino, who  repeated the concert directed by Stockhausen himself in Milan over thirty-five years ago.
Performances of Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Mantra for two pianos and live electronics and an original composition by Philip Corner and Lorna Windsor for gong and soprano, inspired by the Roberto Ciaccio’s show/installation Inter/Vallum, constituted an integral part of the work as a whole.
