In the last room of the exhibition we find a piano, while on the wall is installed a more recent version of Stanza delle tazze (Room of Cups), 1986 (1991), which is ideally linked to the first work with the same title presented in Room 138.
Perceived as solid thanks to an optical illusion, but in reality two-dimensional, the eight hemispherical cups are positioned in such a way as to form the symbol of infinity.
The staging of musical performances to coincide with the art- ist’s exhibitions is something that became part of his activity at the beginning of the 2000s and that has for some time now become customary. For this reason, the public will find in the room a piano, used by the musician and composer Sandro Mussida to play a piece of music connected with the works on display during the exhibition’s opening and in a dedicated moment before its closing. Sandro Mussida is a member of the collective Tutto Questo Sentire along with the artist’s daughters Olivia and Rebecca Salvadori.
